Hello
I have small PPC search engine, and my traffic is rather poor, and almost all of it coming from affiliate websites.
I am interested to get at least some clicks from big search engines, or at least some more affiliates :D

I have readed a lot abouth Se optimization, mostly at this great forum, but I don`t understand some practical things:

1. I need a lot of other sites linking to my own, i have few for now, mostly affiliates portals and search boxex on other sites (if they count)
should i add my website to top lists of PPCs becouse there are ew of them, also should I cross links with simular sites? Will this rise my ranking

2. I have readed that I need to ad subject of site, meta tags, and few other things, but I don`t know practicly how to do it. I think i can chose keywords, but where to put them, and how exaclty shoud this look (in HTML)
Can somebody post me here HTML code of good done webpage, or refer me to some topic where this is already done (I couldn`t find any)

3. Does big SE chose keywords they will relate to my site, or I can do it somehow? For instance I have on my index file something like small portal with abouth 60 keywords, will search engine scan those links and add every result website to its database (I have seen few on google and yahoo, but not those I have on my website) Example: I gt 3 visitors for this search term: "winni-v d-bol" but i have no clue what is this, and don`t have this keyword anywhere on my site.

Please help with any advice, link to post or to turtorial (but please some practical turtorial for totall dummies eek

Also please if anybody can give me example of good HTML for subject + meta tags + anything else needed for SE optimization.

Thank you a lot
Sinisa

1.
>> As far as i know there is no problem with cross linking.

>> Yes back linking is weighted more highly because it is an indication that your site is popular.

>> The problem with cross linking is that anyone can do it. If both parties stand to gain why not just do it with every one. If you have back-links search engines presume that you have a popular and good site because people want to link to you.

>> Also remember the sites that you are getting links from should have similar keywords as you do.

>> Another aspect is if they rank highly there link will count more.

---------------------------------------------------------

2. Well you should really look for yourself. Just search your own keywords and see who ranks highly. open there page and go to [ View/Page Source ]. Then you can see how they have done it. Do it for two or three and you have a good idea.

3. I don’t really understand your last question. Perhaps post again make it clear what it is you want to know.

4. there is plenty documentation out there. The Google site is probably a good place to start. There are some good guideline just click around:

* google.com/webmasters/ (and check out)

* google.com/webmasters/guidelines.html

Links to well-known useful resources, and to other threads in this forum are fine.

Self-promotion of your own sites, and affiliate link drops, etc, are the ones that the Admins will nuke if posted.

Your sites business is very competitive & there are so many of them therefore you will be needing quite an effort in the following

1. Quality inbound links pointing to your site, best way to do that is to check your competitors & see who are linking to them in order to achieve same results.

2. Good quality content & always emphasize on text, place your relevant keywords most importantly in title & heading tags

good luck
