Hampstead - As we know, the world doesnt end with google, despite what some companies think lol. How about hackersafe, they can sort a trial out for you and have been known to increase conversions... price comparison sites (if applicable) most will convert better than google ads as they are people who already want to buy X product, now they just want the best price.
How about services like online press releases, focusing on getting emails if no sales are made. Monitoring the site for broken links. Hosting on a reliable server. Discuss using some webpage space for advertising related businesses to earn them additional revenue. Building an affiliate program.
Not all will apply to every client but they are all things that can be offered if you have the time and organisation to implement it.

Haha, I noticed it had gone a little off topic
Also how about conducting usability testing for your clients? Even on a small scale this can be very useful. I.e. sit a group of people down, one at a time, and monitor how they interract with the website. These people should ideally be a mixed age group, consisting of both men and women.
If used properly this can provide extremely useful information that can give an excellent boost to your conversion rate.

yea!modern techniques are good but it needs to continue for a site.Before applying any modern technology you should optimize your site properly.
