Hi all experts out there,

I recently signed up with "destinyinfotek" to do my SEO for me. Prior to signing up I did enquire if they would do a proper SEO without doing funny stuffs like doorway pages and other unappropriate stuffs banned by GOOGLE. They claimed they are professional and doing those, so I signed up happily with USD300 for two keywords.

Unfortunately, when I asked on progress update from them after two weeks signing up with them, the owner told me they are preparing doorway pages for me, which made my heart dropped! When I tried to argue out, the SEO provider said this:
"dont worry i'll take care of your website and assuring you that your website
wont be banned. doorway pages not in your website but some of our own
websites."

I m not an expert in SEO, but is it true that as long as doorway pages are not within my website, they are okay to be there and I won't get banned?

Please help.

Warmest regards,
Steve

you can get banned, even if the dorway pages are not on your site. Buyer beware.

Although greenleaves is correct that a ban is possible - it is highly unlikely in your case. The doorway pages that the SEs go after are usually part of a bigger scam.

If the SEs were to indiscriminately ban sites that had dodgy pages pointed at them all hell would break loose when people started building spammy pages, pointing them at their competitors sites and reporting them.

However the deal you have signed up for worries me a bit - 300USD doesn't buy much and they are saying one thing and doing another - sounds like they are best avoided.

It is unlikely you will be caught today, but over the long run, I would not take the risk.

BTW, $300 doesn't even get you a yahoo listing. If you are interested in getting some real SEO done, pay full price, or do it yourself. Many times you will see a "stereo" for $5, but is it worth it to buy something that wount work too long? isn't it better to save till you have $50, and buy a reall stereo that will last you many years of quallity? Just my 0.02 cents
