Just want to put in my 2 cents worth on the Main Street Host issue.
I have personally seen many instances where this company has caused financial hardship to small business owners. What they are selling is absolute nonsense. They employ bullying tactics unlike anything I have seen in this century.
My question is why are they still in business? Isn't fraud against the law in the US any more?

Well, let me tell you about this scam and the losers who write their own testimonials and self reviews. They will approach an unsuspecting website owner and test their knowledge of search engine optimizations. Once they feel that a contacted individual knows nothing about the topic really, they will proceed to convince him or her that they don't come up for their targeted keywords. Here is where the trick is though; Before they call you, they found your site on Major Search Engines for the same targeted keywords in top 20 results they claim you don't come up for. Most unsuspecting people are probably in the middle of their business routines and freak out about it since they never knew how look at the stats or that they even have had good rankings will fall for this scam and give up access to their sites alone with their credit cards. Now all MainStreetWhores do is add a link at the bottom of your sites, charge you for it, increase their own link popularity and claim the credit for good optimization. You should actually hear what comes out of their mouths when you ask them: "...and how are you going to put me in top rankings?" Here is another something for those who exchange links with these scammers. Just because they achieved a high page rank PR in Google Toolbar, does not mean you should exchange links with them or that they are a reputable company. Want to know how they achieved a high PR? Read above. ...and finally, here is the message for the MainStreetHost. The fact that you are still able to deceive honest people is a temporary nuisance. Once there is enough evidence and recordings of actual conversations with your rude and aggressive, lowlife-commissions-based reps, you will be brought to justice in the Court of Law. It's just a matter of time.
I hate to think that at one point, somewhere, I might have help one of you with your dropped keys or held the door open. How do you even live with yourselves?
