Don't use software for this - it's far too important to your success to not manage manually.

Hi,
Automated Linkbuilding will harm your site and result in spam, Better to do manual submissions.
cheers

You won't find webmasters who used automated link building here. They all have another job now.

If you want yr site to be popular, dont use short cut method. Its everybodys's wish that one should do well and earn well. Manual link building will certainly fetch you a desired result than using software which may harm on the contrary. I wish u all success.

Automated link building softwares never delivers the quality backlinks as required. further they ignore the theme of the web site and solely focuses on the numbers. they are not reliable yet

Manual link building is the way to go. Automated link building is RUBBISH. Period.

heheheheee :D .. on the OTHER hand one application I can think of where link tools can be very useful is link management, you don't have to automate anything but...you could use pre-existing software for a number of reasons. (I don't but, I know some do.)
and your three cents on this?

Building and managing/maintaining are two separate things in my book.
Using a tool to check the inbounds for anchor text and location just makes sense to me when your inbound volume increases.
To request them, or actually build them for you, nah, I'm a hands on guy all the way there.
One area Webmasters might benfit from automation with regards to links is if you're using a system to manage the links at your end - something users can enter in their own data and get the proper link code you want them to have for linking to you.
Makes the most sense for folks who have a directory on their site, or a huge resources list - might seem duplicitous, but if someone wants to use an automated tool to sign up for a link with me, and have that link on a page with hundreds of others, yet they're willing to drop a link to me using the proper anchor text on their main page, well, fire away.
The resource section benefits my users, and doesn't really hurt me if managed properly. It's still a link exchange, but I'd be willing to bet I'd get more traffic form their link than they'd get form mine.
Now, this only seems reasonable in select cases, in my mind - most sites can get away with a simple links page and be done with it, if they really want to do the swapping thing.
I don't really pursue links with any great vigor - build the content and it'll sort itself out, IMO.
