ok my next question is, what do the links have to be can they be txt links or do they have to be something special like banners etc. also does the website that the links are on have to be a high ranked website or can they be new websites that are not even ranked either, i am asking because i am a new company and i am working with many new and small companies and we are all just tryiing to get noticed, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Generally speaking, a combination of image links and text links is good overall. But, it's the text links in particular that are important--the search engines use this information to figure out what a web pages is about (combined with the actual text on the web page itself).

You can set alt-text for your banners so that search engines can index them as well with your keywords

What does alt-text mean, and does the website that the links are going on have to be a rated website or can that be a new website that is not ranked in search engines either
