This may have been asked before but I wanted to see if there is any new software out there for this.
I am curious to know if anyone has recommendations on good ranking report software? I know this is just one element of SEO but I get a lot of requests for it. Also would want to make sure the software does not upset the Google gods.

There many tools out there; however; I recommend WebCEO for ranking reports.

Why do you need ranking reports?
You should be looking at traffic, not ranks.

As much as I stress other elements clients always want to know if progress is being made in terms of their exposure/rankings on the various top search engines. For this reason I have been looking to see what others are using.
I totally agree traffic is important and I stress that as well. Thanks!

You actually spend time producing ranking reports?
If a client wants to see a rank, they can key search terms into Google any time they feel like it.
However, what you need to be aware of, is that if two people make the same search at the same time, that they will see different ranks because Google has slightly different data and slightly different versions of their algorithm spread across their tens of thousands of servers.

Thank you for the great info as always G1. I hope you get compensated for all the help you provide here because I definitely appreciate it! I wish I had you around when I'm trying to convince the people I'm helping of elements other than their ranking/exposure on the search engines
