    Hello Everyone,

I am a recently certified SEO Professional. I want start my own SEO-only business, (i.e. not PPC), but am not sure how much I should charge for my services, whether I should get a certain percentage of my fee up-front, or whether I should provide clients with audits of their websites. I would appreciate feedback on any or all of the above questions please

    Thanks,

    Peter B

you get what you are worth forwink how do you get a SEO certification? and for me i charge 25% upfront ,50% in the middle and 25% at the end of the project because SEO takes times, so i like them to see results before they pay it all.

    Hi there,

I am also somewhat new to SEO. I was interested in getting a certification as well. I know it is not necessary and seen as pointless to many. I would like to be able to show employers or clients that I have experience, and I have taken the time to learn more about the process.

If anyone has any recommendations on somewhat reputable certification programs, I would love to hear about them.

    Thanks

What school is certifying SEO experts? Sounds like a scam. Create a boiler plate SEO proposal that includes an upfront start up fee and monthly maintenence. You must always custom tailor projects to each client ofcourse so be prepared to offer webdesign, which you can out source, and hosting.

Make a list of everything you would do for a client then figure out what its worth to charge a client for. The problem with SEO is that there is so much to grasp that is usually difficult to explain and quantify to new clients until they see rankings which could take months.

in response to stjean. You do not need a certification for SEO. Spend time on these forums do research, trial and error, etc. There is no central governing body of SEO that is Unviersally recognized and respected. MAYBE Jill Whalens's new classes but even then, not really necessary.
