Is there any such thing as a perfectly optimized site/page ? Is it bad for your site rankings ? If yes, what constitutes a perfect site and how to avoid that ?

Right; how can perfect be bad?

But if you mean 'perfect' as in 'following all the advice I've picked up over the last few months' - then yes, that can be fatal.

Overoptimization is a key cause of Sick Site Syndrome. But overdoing links, overdoing keywords, overdoing metatags, underdoing outgoing links (and I could give 46 more examples!) is not perfect SEO - it's poorly informed seo!

Sick Site Syndrome can be difficult to treat - but the principle of treatment is horrifyingly simple - any measure done for search engines, not for visitors, should be treated with the greatest of suspicion.

Top four isn't at all bad, depending, of course on how competitive your niche is (and how competitive your competitors!).

I'd not do nothing, but I'd be very, very careful. If you are in the top four, I very much doubt your site has sick site syndrome - but it could still catch it.

I'd be inclined to check all your outgoing links; consider adding some to quality realted sites, and consider whether you could obtain a few (just a few) quality incoming links.

But content is king; every site needs to be alive and growing; what related stuff can you add to make your site an even better resource (and maybe satisfy a few more key phrases while you do so).

Check that all your <TITLE>s are unique and consistent with the page content; Check your H1 tags and your ALT text is compliant and useful.

Then go get a cup of tea.

Thanks Quadrille. I will do that. In addition I can also move my hosting to Canada as well. This way on the geo front it can kick a*s of competition. By the way, I am on top four on .com on some very competitive keywords and of course it shows the same for .ca.. but now i am thinking why not just stick with Canada as most clientle is local any way.. you see my point.. Very helpful my friend.. I already owe you a bundle of thanks from previous posts too smile
