I am uploading a new website and I dont want to lose any of the placement I had before on the search engines.
What are my options
Here is what I am considering.
Have it load that site then redirect after 5 to 10 seconds to the new site, but I am unsure what the spiders read if I do this.
Or just using a new domain name, which I dont want to do.
LEt me know if I have any other options, thanks

Not clear why you are changing the URL here.
If you wish to take any benefit, use a 301 permanent redirect - and it's instant.
Even if the 5-second thing worked, it would still be confusing and time-wasting for visitors.
