Well thanks to everyone I have learned about description and keyword meta tags, but lately I have been studying various site source codes and have come across meta: subject, description, classification, keywords, and so on tags.
My question is... Do any of these bare more significance than the other? And, is it even worth placing all of these on your site, or is it just repetition of the keywords meta tag?
Thanks

You do need the title tag and the meta description for sure.
You should also have content-encoding and content-language tags.
The rest of it is not needed.

You also need one more tag meta keyword because msn give importance to this tag also
