Hi - new to the forum smile

I have searched the forum/web re: the effect of Dublin Core metatags and SEO but can't seem to find anything recent.

Any opinion on the effect of DC tags and SEO - I have read that the major search engines don't use them. Should I use the standard meta tags in the head for SEO and then follow with the DC tags. (In this instance it is mandatory to have the DC Tags)

Thanks in advance
k

That stupid tags are useless.

No seo point.

If you 'feel the need' then add them, but don't expect the SEs to take any notice.

Who actually does take any notice, let alone make them 'mandatory'?

Thanks both for your replies - interesting to see not much has changed since 03 on this subject

'Mandatory' for a particular library as they have made a commitment to use them for internal indexing in the public sector.

So in your opinions - it would not harm to put the Search Engine friendly tags and then the DC tags?

It wouldn't do any harm apart from adding a small amount of useless code to the page.

If I were using them I would have them called within an include so that they can be easily modified in the future.
