What do you think is the two most effective off page optimization things you could do for your website?

1. Get a few quality links.
2. Learn that SEO is much more complex than getting a list of things to do. That's a certain route to sick site syndrome; all these 'things' overlap and interereact. Blindly working down a hit list you've gleaned from asking people to list 'things' is asking for trouble.
You'll do much better to read around, search the forums, and ask specific questions when you hit the buffers on understanding.

post comments on blogs and forums that are related to your business and once you have earned reputation in the forums remember to leave a link to your main page after every comment.
article submission is also a great way to attract visitors to your site. you can have your links in the resource box
