I have built the Website but have been unable to do anything to optimise it.
So far I have

• added all Metatags,
• Checked all Meta Tags page Relevancy is above 80%
• Added our sitemap to Google’s index and added my site to all of the Main Directory sites that i know of
• Re-designed the old site which was in a Frames Format into a Layout Table Format.

The site has been registered for about 3-4 years and i started optimising in January so i would have thought I would at least see some change. But i am still not appearing in the search results and in the last update my PR went from 1 to 0!!

The main keywords we are looking for is Property, Management, Cyprus, Larnaca, Famagusta, Tersefanou.

I am not in a very competitive field but other smaller company’s websites are appearing at the top of the search results instead of us. If you type “Property Management Cyprus” into Google you will see what I mean.

Can anyone have a look at my site and see if they can at least point me in the right direction. My boss is really getting on at me for some results.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help,

Gemma

Hi Gemma

I would take a look at your design again. It is not the most professional looking site out there. I am only saying this as it will help increase your enquiry levels and may lead to more people linking to your site.

Hi sem4u, thank you for your feedback.

Could you elaborate on what you feel could be improved with site design.

Dont hold back all feedback is good feedback in my opinion.

Thanks Gemma.

Also do you have any thoughts on SEO? particulartly why i am not getting listed.

Welcome kslcyprus!

If you post the problem in more detail, we can take a look and advise you.

Go to the "Site Review Please" section, but be sure to read the top two threads before posting.

Follow This Link.

BTW, please remove the URL from your post - it's against the rules - but do put it in your profile.

BTW-2

There are many problems with your site, but the probable suicide note, on the floor by the half empty SEO pill bottle is this:

Submit Website for Link Exchange

Is that very bad, i have done that as i have been told incoming links is a good thing. would re-wording it help or is it better to just remove the link software and make my own in a database or should i not bother with links at all.

The problem is that i am not appearing in any of the searches for instance "property management Cyprus" "Property Management Larnaca" "Pool Cleaning Cyprus" "Residential Lettings Cyprus" Whereas smaller husband and wife teams with websited made on Frontpage are appearing in the top of the results and i cannot find out why i am not.

Sorry about the URL i thought as it had a button to addURL it would be fine to put in i will remove it and you will be able to see the URL in my Profile.

Check Google's stance on "link exchanges" and "paid links" and other related topics.

Such schemes bring a "quality" problem for sites that engage in these activities. Avoid.

Problems:
- header is too big,
- buttons too big,
- remove the word welcome, thats one of the most important places to put your keyword phrase (never welcome people to your site),
- the writing is amateurish -- write from the perspective of the customer,
- the description is suffering from keyword stuffing,
- don't mention your site redesign,
- the first things the spiders are getting is the weather and the converter, move them,
- the holiday visas header is broken,
- you have cross-browser compatibility issues,
- you have important keywords in graphics -- (PropertyManagement on PropertyManagement.html)

Get rid of:
<meta name="Author" content="G.J.M Web Design" />
<meta name="Design" content="G.J.M Web Design" />
<meta name="copyright" content="&copy; Key Services Ltd" />
<META NAME="revisit-after" CONTENT="5 days">

You need a robots.txt file.

You need a 301 canonical redirect. Google will see your www and your non-www domains as two separate sites and penalize you.

Register your sitemap with Google, Yahoo, Live (you can do it in the robots text).

Your links go to other websites. The content needs to be on your website.

You have a lot of work to do.

Incoming links are great - "Link Exchange" is not, unless you take great care.

Swapping links in the way you are trying to is very, very risky. It's your outgoinglinks that will get you into trouble.

Read up a little on reciprocal links; in general, only consider doing it with related, trusted sites.

Thanks for sorting the URL wink

gemma despite what you think and going from what work i've done on previous sites for property in europe, you're in a VERY competitive field. This is a hard area to get listed well for.

A few metas isnt going to do it. You need a pro on board, both for design and for SEO.

Hi Freeflyer,

Thanks for your post.

What i mean by competitive, is that we are not targeting People looking for holiday propertys, we would not even try as we use property portal sites for that.

We are looking to advertise to people with property in cyprus who are looking for someone to manage it. There are only about 5 other companys (All smaller, mostly husband and wife teams) who do what we do and they all are being listed at the top of the results for my targetted keywords (property management cyprus larnaca tersefanou), and i cannot see with there budgets that they have the money to pay for SEO.

We were quoted 3,500 euro's setup then a monthly fee from the only company on the island who does SEO, and i cannot afford that.

I would like to take this oppertunity to thank all of you for your help in this and my website review post. Just encase i forget later or if any of you dont return.

People like you and Forums like these are always so helpfull.

If any of you would like a one way link to your site (although with my PR it wont help much but its all i can offer) i would gladly do it, PM or email me if you want me to do this. <-if offering this is against forum rules then i apologise and will remove ASAP.
