Most websites keep a consistent "look" across the website. In fact it is important to do so. It's normal when using this type of tool, to score in the high 70 to 90 range. Exact duplicate content is all you need to worry about.

If you use WebBug you can control the headers that are given to the web server; and you can make yourself 'look' like a spider and see exactly what the web server returns. WebBug is a free download.

I have 2 sites running off the same database selling the same products but marketed to different sectors of the community (Thus 2 URL's with differing presentation).

The spider simulator (http://www.webconfs.com/similar-page-checker.php) says they are different, Dmoz says they are not and will not place the second URL in the directory. sad

Do I need to write up all the products again with different prices to get placement or can any body see something I have missed?

Thanks in advance.

24%. Hotel reservation web site for a location. One with personally created database of articles about the place. The other focuses on the style of travel with may be 30% of the number of articles (which are unique also)

Sorry to mis lead.sad
On checking it was looksmart.com who took the site off their listings.

Thank you rajesh2k in advance

siam, directory's by design, can not list the entire Internet. They just can't. The directory structure would become on manageable. So they try to limit what websites get listed.

This sometimes is frustrating when the editors of a directory disagree with your "marketed to different sectors of the community".

Search engine can and will index your websites if you follow their rules.

Looksmart is now Pay per click. If you feel your traffic is profitable enough to convert at 15 dollars USD per 100 visitors, you can re-list your site at Looksmart. You just need a credit card and a website that can support paid traffic.

I have tried about 7 different spider simulators and get a variety of results. What is most disturbing is that several of the simulators are not showing that my page contains meta keywords or descriptions -- when I know that our site does. I went to http://www.searchengineworld.com/ and typed in [edit: our url] and it returned results that indicate I have no keywords.

Then I went to http://www.netstep.org/search-engine-optimization-tools/spider-simulator.htm -- typed in my URL and the report indicates that no meta tags.

I also tried one simulator provided by World Wide Web Consortium at :http://cgi.w3.org/cgi-bin/html2txt? and got no response.

What gives and what are the best recommendations ?
