I have written an online program to create a spider map (link page) for your site:
http://www.searchenginepromotionhelp.com/SpiderMapCreator
This program will create a page with links to all of your site's pages. It can optionally include the META descriptions under each link.
More information and samples.:

Comments and constructive criticism are welcome.

I looked at your page & I didn't see any way to create a link page for a user's site.
How is this done?

Hi Bob
Your right it doesnt create a link page. It lists the links in any pages it visits (if you click the links box) . I'm new to this seo thing. hadnt even thought about the idea of making a link page. Maybe I'll add that to the page. How about pages for internal and external links? What exactly does one do with the resulting links page anyway? Have you seen the map that Funnelweb profiler makes of a site?. http://www.quest.com/funnel_web/profiler/ Its what I thought a spider map was.

My program spiders your site & creates a map page with a text link to all the pages it finds. Because every page is only 1 click deep from this map page the spider doesn't 'get lost' trying to follow deep links or malformed link tags.
I link to the map page from every page on my site (though linking from the index page is probably sufficient) and it's the second page I submit to search engines which accept multiple page submissions.

That looks like a diagnostics tool for users trouble shooting their sites.
I hope this answers your questions, let me know if you need more information.

Thanks bob
now I get it. I wrote a spider do hickey to do the map thing, but gee it takes a while on a site with lots of links. runs ok in a windows app though. Its pretty easy to extract all the image links (and images) from the pages to. Is there any benefit in this re seo? Google has an image search thingo.

Hi bob99999, here are my thoughts.
1) You should limit the number of pages you spider - as it's a free tool you don't want to be using up all your server's processor time if someone inputs a 10,000+ site.
2) Instead of generating the map in real time for the user, perhaps take an email address off them, fork off a child process to do the sitemap generation and then email the user with a link to their site map when the process is complete
Hope these help

That's a good idea which I'll do in the next revision.

I thought about doing it this way but I figured fewer people would use it because people are [rightly] paranoid about giving out their email addresses.
Thanks for your comments,
Bob

Hey bob
this spider from the server thing is a bit slow.
I ended up just putting my spider mapper in a windows app, and leaving
it out of the web page.
http://210.18.220.243/TiT/Gogglator.aspx
has a download link for the windows app.
(you need the .net 1.1 framework)
Give it a whirl and tell me what you reckon.

I've fixed the problems I had with my server & the spider map creator is back online:

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
