This tread will serve as the Jim's World "SEO Bible."
Please add your favorite SEO tools and uts. What they do and why you like them.
Please refrain from discussing the good and bad of each HERE but please start a new thread and then post that tread here.

Bruceclay.com has many good tools and ut. Free for a trail period and then they want you to pay. But if you have all your ducks lined up I think you can get the most out of it in the trail period.

I think we tried to compile a big list of SEO Tools and Resources a while back in this thread: http://www.jimworld.com/apps/webmaster.forums/action::thread/forum::members-lounge/thread::298
For what it's worth, I currently find myself using digitalpoint's keyword tracker (http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/keywords/) and gorank's link popularity analyzer (http://www.gorank.com/linkpopularity/) almost daily.

I looked at that thread was pointed out by Webmaster-Toolkit. Its a great compilation. Are there any recent compilation of SEO tools ? Can anyone suggest me a few good (must have) software that can automate or atleast help in:
1. Link Analysis and Exchange
2. Doorway Page Generation
3. Keyword Research and Page Density Check
One such software I know is WebCEO but at $500 its very expensive and I am not sure about it. Please advise me if I am thinking in the wrong direction but some of these softwares look very promising but I need to have opinions of more experienced professionals before I invest anything.
Thanks,
Mukul

I think mine would be:
WebCeo (not free) - http://www.webceo.com/ - I got the Web CEO Startup for 19.95
Traffic Hurricane (free) - http://www.traffic-hurricane.com - Nice doorway page and SEO tool
Page Checker and Spider Simulator (free) - http://tools.summitmedia.co.uk/spider/
Have not got any Link Analysis programs but maybe I can find some free ones somewhere. Oh just remembered http://www.MarketLeap.com
oh and Xenu Link Sleuth ... use google to find that!

Mine would be:
Web CEO (I've got SmallBiz edition for $300)
and Optilink (http://www.optilinksoftware.com/ - I've just downloaded their trial edition and I like it very much)

http://www.spidertrack.org.
It logs the IP of every user agent claiming to be Googlebot that visits one of their domains. The site provides reverse DNS on those IPs and also has a table of every User Agent string that contains either "google" or "slurp".

This site has a lot of neat tools. I use the cloaking checker, search engine spider simulator and I really think the Magic Ranking Prophet is fun as well as informative.

Hello,
Basically I've created an Internet Explorer Toolbar which contains all my favorite and most used search engine optimization tools and resources.
Within this toolbar you'll find everything you need from the most essential Google AdWords tools to ecourses and newsletters on optimizing your website for the search engines. (I've even included a section on writing more powerful website copy).
I've focused the whole toolbar on Google simply because this is the major search engine right now, so it just made sense.
You can download this complete keyword research toolbar from here:
Google Profit Tools
I hope this helps.
