Hello all

I have developed a Google-style search engine application which I believe could redfine the search engine industry and give more control to webmasters over user searching and results. My application is called PrimedSearchPro and works in the same fashion as Google, except you the webmaster can control which sites should be indexed and hence the results which should be returned. It has taken two years to develop and is ready to be released. The expected cost will be £99 GBP ( a small price to operate your own Google engine).

PrimedSearchPro has been designed with the webmaster in mind. It uses web templates to keep the programming and html code seperate so any site look and feel can be designed without much technical knowledge. It stores the site index inside a mysql database and uses forked threads to speed up searching. There is also a statistics page and password protected admin section for administering the search engine.

There are several ways PrimedCMS can be used within a website - either as a dedicated sitesearch tool which also searches related websites, or as a standalone Google-style search engine where the visitor can search by topic, keyword or drill-down their search using topic selection boxes. The webmaster simply specifies which external website should be indexed and into which category the site should be placed.

In addition I have set up the first of what is intended to be a main search engine gateway for all webmasters operating PrimedCMS. Put simply, everyone who purchases and operates a PrimedCMS search engine can apply to be listed within the main gateway - something which will hopefully increase their traffic. As the user base grows, additional gateways will be established. Examples of the gateways are here:

Please note: these are only demonstrations of how PrimedCMS can work and are still under development and undergoing minor tweaks. However, the FAQ in MiniGoogle.co.uk does provide an interesting insight into how I plan to build up the system for the benefit of website owners and their visitors.

I believe this approach and the PrimedCMS application could redefine how search engines operate and would most certainly appreciate some feedback on these plans and ideas.

Many Thanks

Interesting idea. You will probably have to choose another marketing name though because the Google lawyers will be on your back as soon as get to hear about Google in the domain name.
