I have noticed that alot of tools that do rank checking are now starting to use Google's API so that they don't infringe on Google's TOS and they don't get their IP banned. I was just about to sign up for a Google devloper's API licence key, but I read their terms of service and it's states that you can only use the API license key for personal use and not for commercial use. It further states that if you want to use the API for commercial use, you must contact them. So was I reading their terms of service wrong or is it violation to use their API key for rankings reports as well (what a bummer that would be)?
Thank you,
George

BTW - To get to the terms of service I am talking about go to Googles developers API home page. Click on create a new account. At the bottom click on Terms of Service. These differ from the terms of service on the main API page.
