Dear mx_
well, if I had the answer... haven´t heard that blog ping is that effective!
Truth is, it´s very easy to submit a site via blog ping and I even found out how you can "cheat" them by submitting it several (-well incountable!! -) times. So if someone is really getting busy with submitting via blog ping, eventually the result will be an amazing change in ranking in Google.
Haven´t looked into that yet. Thanks for the tip, I´ll check back with my results.
Best,

Hello,
The blog and ping has been a proven method to get your website indexed in Google fast. Just setup a blogger account, add the rss to my yahoo, post links on your blogger account to your site that you want indexed, and ping your blog. Then, you need to keep blogging, and pinging your blog, and your DONE! This method has been proven to work.

That's true. You can use blog and ping to get your page crawled fast.
However, that doesn't mean that you will get better rankings. Just because you update your page (or your blog) and it gets crawled doesn't mean that it will rank well. It's not a "silver bullet" to getting great rankings.

Hi,
This is Vladimir
Here are the real facts about pinging your blog:
- a ping helps you for updating your information on different websites
- a ping won’t deliver traffic to your blog, a ping will generate indirect traffic to your blog by sending requests to webpages that are using RSS feeds for content.
- a blog is just a blog, it’s not spamming, you won’t get banned unless, you are really spamming
Hope this solves the problem a little bit.
If you have any questions about my experience with this kind of techniques please reply, I'll use my knowledge for your questions.

As far my experience is concerned,I have not seen any direct increase of traffic to my Blog by pinging several times a day. More pinging doesn't mean more traffic. The genuine method to get listed higher-is by increasing the Page Rank (PR), which itself is a teadious and time consuming process. I promote my Blog by trade link ventures with other webmasters with similiar website content.
