I heard about the new "latest & greatest" SEO tool (specifically Google Sandbox removal) to hit the web a few months ago and finally got around to examining it. It is very much closed/black box in regard to what it does. After putting a sniffer on it and doing a packet analysis on the outbound & inbound traffic all I can say to anyone considering spending the $79.00 - $150 USD on it is ... save your $$. Big waste of time... S.E. query submission spam and the company is a bit on the "shaky" side. I posted a review and ethereal packet logs in a more detailed review on my site. www.cjkcybermedia.com/seo_advisories.html

I broke up the url so it doesnt look like another feeble noob attempt at a backlink wink if the text is not kosher mods please remove it and just refer to my profile for the link.

I just had a client inform me that he used this product and now he is no where to be found on Google.

Does anyone else have a negative/positive on them? I am currently wondering how the heck I am going to fix the mess.

sherrillh, do you have any evidence that using that particular tool contributed to your client's demise on Google?

This "tool" basically works by a new form of referer spam. Rather then spamming random stats programs it attempts to *fake* url activity directly to gooogle/etc by submitting tons of spoofed referral traffic to a url - buyer beware - as for the google dropped site... contact google and explain the situtation and quote this forum and my article url as googles matt cutts also is aware of this application.

Bill - The only evidence I have is that the client was a steady #1 - #3 on Google, then started using the software and about 2 weeks later he has been dropped completely. He had done nothing else to warrant a complete drop, so I would have to assume it was this "tool".

mrkryz - I will take your advice, thank yousmile

I wanted to make sure I was right before posting this. I've been using the software on a test site with adsense for two months now. I'm always the first person to cry "wolf" when software can get your site delisted and I wanted to find out of this is one of them but its not. Results are actually good; oddly enough. The Sandbox SEO program works better then RankAttack (its also newer technology). I haven't had any issues with it. In December when google changed up the game a little I did have my ranking dropped but it was a density problem not a software issue. Not sure why you were delisted but I ran this software pretty hard and I'm only seeing positive results.

Well I only came across RankAttack and SandBox SEO in early February 2006. Knew nothing about what I am reading above until I tried the RankAttack software start February 2006 on a brand new web site. After 2 months of usage on the brand new site, not a single search engine has crawled the site to date.

Decided to search about reviews and now reading about all the cons about it that it may be considered SEO spam.

Did email the product owner about some explanation about why no results today. No reply as yet ! Support has been good up until now.

Using 'grey hat' technology for all my sites which produce a good living, am careful to avoid the Sandbox effect from any search engine. Main point is dont be greedy and spam or splog your sites.
Whats the point of building sites that get blasted off big G's index within a short time?
I use a useful little tool called webcpg to generate anti-SandBox content sites of high quality and revenue.

1 - don't use software - period.

2 - if this person' sites were consistantly between 1 and 3 in the SERPS, why did he need to use software to rank well? Did he think there's another spot above first?

Perhaps he was trying for rankings in the fourth dimension?

Confused.

Seems to me this thread is the sort that surfaces periodically:

Users like something, they spread the word. Others try it - and, with mixed results, come mixed reviews.

Anyone recall WebPosition Gold about 2 years ago? ...and there were actually very few sites actually penalized in that case - but even today it haunts them...
