Looks pretty good, not too keen on the big white box mind. Maybe 'funk' up the nav buttons at the top wink

Apart from that, cool

I don't understand the purpose/intent of the site.

your site says "Welcome to the AngeDevil Development Company website!!' So I expected it to be a web development type site - not a forum.

As for search engines - you have no DOC TITLE, no H tags & no alt tags.

Kione that is a HUGE question -

I once asked that same question - thinking "OK no biggie - I will just learn how to do that" I even asked someone to post it for me so I could copy & paste it into my pages lol - it is not quite like that wink

I would start by studying these forums and search them for terms such as meta tags,DOC TITLE, Alt Tags, Heading Tags, SEO, and such.

Learning how to get your site ready for the search engines is not a recipe per say - it is a on going learning experience.

However you CAN learn it - many people give up as it does take time.

Maybe someone else here knows a quicker way for you to learn it - but I don't - the way I learned it was to glue myself to these boards and study for hours a night on end and to ask a LOT of questions smile

People who "know" about all this are still learning it again all the time as the SE's change their specifics.

I now am a SEO geek - as I love studying it smile

Does the home page sufficiently convince people to go further into the site?
Nope, I think the design is bad, design's too edgy and SHARP.

Does/can the site achieve its main purpose?
Not yet, I can't seem to find a purpose in ur site yet. It's still under construction...

Navigation. Is it clear and easy to understand?
Yes, ur homepage basically explains the whole thing, which is different, but not entirely plausible. If ppl have to read it to know what they r doing, then it's not user-frinedly at all.

As noted above, you do have some tweaking of the site code to help your rankings.

It would also help both for readers and search engines if there were some explanation on the home page of just what the site is about.

The combination of the HTML stuff for title & description and then some people-read stuff on the page that went along with them would do wonders for getting the site searched. Also probably help out getting folks to look further than just the home page.

The use of white letters on black and the fire red is interesting. Good or bad will depend on what age & interest groups you want. Some will hate it and leave quickly; some will love it and look further. You just gotta make real sure that the readers you want are the ones likely to love the page design.

Hi kione and welcome back.

Good on ya for getting the W3 DOCTPYE statement added. Now use the W3 validator to locate code errors and after they are fixed, you will have some nice, clean pages.

Each of your pages needs a different (and short but descriptive) title rather than reusing the same one that is basically the site URL. Each page also needs a meta description that matches the page content.

The dark greens on black gives a very interesting effect but I have to wonder how readable it will be.

The Doc thing was added by Dreamweaver, I think, so I'm not sure how to use it.

If you Google for w3 validator you will find a site that allows putting in a URL and having their app list all the code errors it finds. Given the line number and specific problem, the code can be corrected and usually pretty easily.

The W3 DOCTYPE statement tells the validator what set of standards to use and is more likely to give an accurate listing of errors than if there isn't such a declaration and the validator uses standards designed for a different level of code.

It is free and quick so well worth doing.

Well, its a nice clean homepage although possibly slightly underused. It comes across very empty and non descript.

You dont seem to have a link back to homepage on every other page, or did i just not see it? Either way, every page should link back to home.

Your page Titles are also not descriptive enough. Use a brief and concise description of whats actually going on on that page rather than just 'index' or 'forum' etc.

Apart from that, it looks fine to me.

Good luck!
