Site looks nice to me. Not too sure about the menu. Once I got the jist of it it was fine but im used to drop down menu's that drop down on mouseover rather than having to click. The fact a hand didnt appear on mouseover made me wonder if the menu was working. Besides that bit of confusion I do like the menu.

Im not sure if I need to know what number visitor I am. Perhaps the counter would be better placed somewhere less obtrusive. I'm also not so keen on the main image in the front page, looks rather like a scrap book with lots of little pictures cut out and thrown on in no particuler order. The yellow bit in the middle saying includes shipping and handling also duplicates what is said above.

I know nothing of SEO so cant be of help there.

Thanks glenn,
Any input or opinions are appreciated.
The menu mouseover has been addressed with the designer. There has been much confusion on that.
I can see your point on the front page image and visitor counter. I will wait for other reviews/opinions on those issues.

Q1.Does the home page sufficiently convince people to go further into the site?

I think you have an adequate front page, however if you visit other sites
and view there front pages you may see where you are lacking.
Here are a few which may give you some ideas...

cabelas.com

basspro.com

gofishin.com

Their front pages are very information rich and also mention the upcoming
memorial day vacation.

Q2.Navigation. Is it clear and easy to understand?

Well this could be the sites real achillees heel. The fact that the menus
don't. at first, appear to work. I think that has to be a priority issue.
As soon as someone hovers over a menu item the menu items should expand.
At the moment it is not intuitive, this is going to lose you sales.

Q3.Appearance/Attractiveness

I don't feel that the central information blends in well with the top and
side. At the moment , for me at least, it lacks a professional look and
feel.
I don't think having a visible counter on the front page is a good idea.
It doesn't look professional. If you want a great invisible counter then
look up statcounter on google. Not only is it free but it gives the user
an incredible amount of other information.

Q4.Typos and grammar

In the KA BAR knives section their is an incomplete sentece for the first
knife. It currently reads :

" desert KA-BAR fishing utility knife (Sheath Includ"

Q5.Search engine marketing. Can the pages be reasonably well indexed by search engines?

i) Currently you have duplicate meta-tags on each page.

ii)The titles are also the same on each page.

iii)Entering your sites URL into the W3C validator http://validator.w3.org
threw up a number of errors. Your designer may wish to view these errors as
some of them are serious.

iv) You have 13 other sites that link to you. You may wish to consider
increasing this number. One method is to find a list of free business
directories ( I believe if you search around here enough then you will
find one) and submit to those.

Hope this info helps...

Thanks Rez, I will forward your review to the designer and she what she can do.
I didn't know there were 13 other sites linked to me.I guess I can work on that one myself and see what happens.
I checked your links and am aware of the differences. The original concept was to keep the site as simple as possible and target the people just looking for the best price.(the reason for including the S/H in the price)
I started this site so I could get my Hunting/fishing stuff at cost.Local word of mouth last year sold a little over $2800.This year looks like it will be over $5000. So I am now trying to get the site to do something without having to change very much or spend more money on it. Maybe I can get a small part of the market that will overlook the problems and focus on the lowest prices and 2-5 day delivery. If not then I will look at having it redone similiar to the ones you mention. Thanks again for your input.
