Does the home page sufficiently convince people to go further into the site?

The top horizontal menu bar in the home page was scrambled both in I.E. and Opera (didn't try FireFox). Words overlap and it's not readable. It display properly on other pages, but it still looks like it was pasted together from pieces that don't quite match.
