Yahoo UK charge £199 to review a site for inclusion.
Is it worth it?
Has anyone experience of so applying?

I dont think its worth it, spend the money on google adwords instead and submit your site to DMOZ

Yes, I agree with darksat.
Why do you pay Yahoo while there are other free, even better, choices. DMOZ is a good choice for directory.
Yahoo also provides free list for its directory and search engine. You can submit your web sites to Yahoo without charge. The only difference is that it may take longer time to get listed.

Hi aiuk
Hmm. I beg to differ with the others.
We have a site that did not rank at all in yahoo after 4 months of seo. Paid the bobs to get included and lo and behold as soon as the site was accepted for its category we appeared everywhere. Was it worth it to us?. A week later 20% of our traffic is coming from yahoo.
Just my 2 cents.
A little note. As se_gate says inclusion in the UK/Irish directory is now free.

Anyone else experience good results by paying the $299 to get in the Yahoo Directory?

Use the back door for yahoo...
Start a blog, set it up with yahoo
and you'll be indexed within 48 hours - free!
This will let you market your main url OR you
can syndicate your main url.
Not difficult at all.

I've been in Yahoo's directory for many years, but lately a group of related sites have crept up in front of my site. This group of sites is not in DMOZ, I checked. I have no way to know who pays Yahoo and who doesn't, but am disappointed, of course, that my site has slipped down from #1 to #10 or #11. Even when I did have #1, I didn't get as much traffic from Yahoo as from Google, though.
My link pop hasn't dropped, actually increased slightly, and there has been no change to my metatags, so I'm at a loss how to work on the problem.
