I am newbie of SEO marketing. Have heard a lot about Goolge PageRank and its ranking algorithm.

Now I want to know something about Yahoo.

    1. Yahoo runs two types of search engines: spider SE (like Google) and directory (like DMOZ), right?

    2. How does it take to get my web sites indexed by Yahoo?

    3. What should I know if I want to boost my web site ranking in Yahoo?

Thanks a lot for any help smile

Regarding #2: My sites, with no inbound links, have all gotten at least partially indexed within three to six weeks. If I had not hand submitted them it would have been longer, obviously.

Regarding #3: I'm a total amateur who doesn't know much except that every time I'm created a good website content-wise, a site I know in my heart is good (pardon the sappy cliché), it's done well instantly with Yahoo both in terms of rank and in terms of the number of total pages indexed.

I don't think anyone knows for sure what the percentages are, but judging by my experience, Yahoo places great emphasis on content. Google places emphasis on who links to you.

Usually no one "important" links to my sites because they fall into weird categories where people are either spineless and will not link to competition, or where they won't link to you unless you play along with their head games and join their groups.

I mean that in the nicest way possible.

My worst site in the history of me did the best with Google because one important site linked to it, a site owned by my friend.

You can learn basic things like using meta keywords, title etc by reading this Interview.

Don't just read it, apply it to your site.

    Best of luck smile
