I received notification that my inclusion into the Yahoo database via Inktomi is now no longer happening.

Is the only option now pay-per-click?
Isn't this terrible? How will my listing get affected!? I'm in the top 2, 3 and 10 for huge keywords and I don't want to lose the rank!

Also, I had the Inktomi inclusion through ineedhits.com. Now they are plugging me with the Yahoo Search Submit and it looks pretty sketchy.

I had several sites listed through the Inktomi paid submission listings. When the time expired on it I did not notice a significant decrease in my rankings with any of the sites. The key factor with that was they were all optimized correctly and could still hold their own without the need of the weekly spider. BTW - slurp still sniffs around anyway. It was just nice to have the paid inclusion for the quickness of new listings.

IMO - If your site is optimized with good content and relevant links you would not need the pay-per-click option through Yahoo Search Submit. If, however, your site is not optimized and/or is an extremely competitive market then I would consider it.

Hope that helpswink
