I have a keyword that ranks about 14 at Google and 32 at MSN, but not in the top 200 at Yahoo. Why is that? Does Yahoo hate me or something. I though Google and Yahoo had similar ranking aglorithm, why there is such a hugn discrepencies at Google and Yahoo for my keyword ranking?
Any helps always appreciated

You've answered the question yourself.
They are different search engines with similar ranking algos, but not the same algo.
Hence the descrepency.

jcai - are you listed in the Yahoo directory? Seems to help with getting ranked by Yahoo in the organic results - mostly because they then will agree that they know you exist.
The algorithms, while possibly similar, are not the same. So, each of the engines out there views your site slightly differently and each engine values idfferent bits and pieces a bit differently, too.
Google pays less attention to the data in the <keywords> tags, MSN pays a bit more attention to it.
Did I ask you yet if you paid the $299 for inclusion in the Yahoo directory? Yahoo seems to pay attention to the $...sometimes...
...and lest there be any misunderstanding to my point here:
Paying the money for the review for inclusion in yahoo's directory does NOT mean you WILL enjoy better organic rankings in Yahoos serps, but that's the first directory they look to for results, so...

And sometimes, it can also be the reverse. Different search engines.

Im not promoting Yahoo paid inclusion but....
I have found it is beneficial in organic search results in about 70% of cases where we have subscribed to the directory.

i personally wouldn't worry about it. i tried to change my site once to please all search engines, but soon found that my google ranking dropped off the screen and although i was much better placed with yahoo, the traffic (customer) numbers suffered.

Hi,
you are right, but both yahoo and google follows different ranking algorithms and different factors. compare some sites in google and yahoo you can understand the difference.
