Look in the directory.
Find the deepest category which suits the content of your website (always submit to the deepest point in a directory).
Look for the "Submit a domain" link (or something similar).
Choice one is free and it may never get in - I've been waiting about a year and a half now and I'm still not in.
Choice 2 is to spend the $299 USD to get them to review your site - it's ONLY a review, so make sure the site is working perfectly and has no dead links. If they find crap on the site and reject you, you DO NOT get the money back and must pay $299 again the next time you want them to review your site.
That's it - there is no other, backdoor way into Yahoo's directory any more.

So... in your opinion is it worth the $299.00 to be reviewed? (assuming they accept).
What do I get for that?

You really don't have to pay $299 to get in the Yahoo! search results. All you need is a few links from other sites that are already indexed.
