If you type in Yahoo "women's shoes", you'll see the site I'm talking about ranking number 4.

The site doesn't have much links, or headers, no text whatsoever, and text anchor link is not prominent with keyword "women's shoes" (plural, with an apostrophe). Plus their description doesn't even have the keyword in it.

Also, when viewing the source code, there are several extra meta tags that I have never noticed before, and yes, these extra meta tags include the keyword in it.

Please note, I am trying to target "women's dress shoes" which is three keywords, and this site is successful with "women's shoes" which is much more difficult.

What is working for them? I hope they are doing things correctly, because I hope to model their techniques, and I do think they have a clean site.

Any thoughts and comments please clue me in
--Thanks,
Don

Can anyone help me with this please?

I am going nuts how I find some pages with hardly any optimization getting great results. It seems the more I try the worse it gets!

Please take a look at the page that I described above and give my ANY FEEDBACK.

--Appreciated,
Don

I typed in women's shoes at Yahoo and got shoes.com - seems about right to me.

Am I missing something? If It's not shoes.com, then put the site in your profile and I'll find out why they are doing so well.

It does look strange - possibly the women's shoes link at the bottom of every page - doesn't do 'em any favours at Google or MSN though...

Need to look at this when I have more time.

It looks like that particular site is benefitting from anchor text links that they've added to the bottom of the page that link to their home page.
