Hello all,

Trying to optimize for my website (in my profile), for the keyword "richly scented candles". I am doing great with other keyword phrases, but this one escapes me--especially since the person who is number one on this particular term doesn't have this keyword phrase in their title? Or in their heading?

Do I need to work more on keyword density??
Or is it something else that I am missing. I know Yahoo consideres more on page factors as opposed to Google, which is more off page (heavily link driven), so if anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it.

I have a few ideas--any feedback please.
--is it better to underline separate words, even in a three keyword phrase, such as blue widgets shop
or the whole phrase together, such as blue widets shop

--also, what about emphasizing on two of the words of the three word phrase?
EX: Someone told me that if I want work on the keyword "richly scented candles" then emphasis on "scented candles" with some links, underlines, bolds, and headings

--Thanks
--Don

Interesting key phrase...do people really search on such a term?

I would be concerned about the use of the link exchange on your website...

You already have two many external links in your main navigation...do you really want all that down the bottom of your home page?

My best advice is to forget about the search engines and your competitors and work on improving your website so it is better for visitors...you have a lot of products, why not describe them more fully? Each page of your website can be an entry point...lots of room for optimisation.

Why bother trying to trick the search engines by fiddling around with underlines and such - SHOW them what is important! At the moment nothing much is, because there is too much clutter smile

Also check for broken links...

Make a new page 'richly-scented-candles.html' and link it from your homepage. It may work like magic wink

You may not like to hear it, but I have to say - listen what excell said =>

"forget about the search engines and your competitors and work on improving your website so it is better for visitors" smile
