Our website [url removed] has just built for not long, and we are trying to submit to yahoo. however, it is quite sad that we were told that we have to pay for this.

anyway have a free method for this??

Well, try as I might, I cannot locate a way to submit to Yahoo's directory for free any more.

There *used* to be a small text link on their "Pay for it" page that allowed you to skip paying in exchange for waiting until they got around to it - which I personally haven't seen happen in years.

It appears the only way in is to pay these days.

Skip them and focus on other directories and efforts.

You must have a yahoo address to submit
just create one log in then go to the url
scroll to submit for free.
Copy paste your url in as the test is so small you would need binoculars.

Although you can submit, it's better to not submit...let the spiders find your site via links to your site. You can, though also submit to the Yahoo! Directory.
