I recently noticed that a co-worker and I were getting vastly different results for the same queries on Yahoo search. We figured we are hitting different data centers, but the variation was surprising (like one of us seeing our site at #5 for a query and the other person not seeing the site in the top 20 for the same query). When we see data center variation in Google results, the results don't seem so different.
I'm not finding much past chatter about such variation, so I'm wondering if anyone else here has seen the same and whether it's simply a data center variation and that's the end of the story.
