Ross, try starting with writting about how it is foolish to spam fourms with pure hype about a series of non-existing articles.
Time for lunch. I think I'll have a Spam on toast sandwich.

That's not spam ... It was in the Gazette this week, and as such, gets an automatic forum post to discuss the gazette "article". This article is basically our way of introducing you to Ross, and letting you know what I have him working on ;)
Stay tuned, this guy knows his stuff, and the articles will be quite enlightening.

Article or no article it comes across as spammy in the forums. Especially if he posts it himself.

Actually, I posted it for him :)
I was just telling the staff this ... the way that the gazette gets published, when I put all of the articles into my publisher, I paste in the article, written on date, and the author's name. I can optionally pick a forum/subject for it too, so that in the gazette that "Post your comments" link will show up and work. In this case, I thought that it made sense to have this blurb in the gazette and in the forums, and gave Ross the by-line on it. So if you're ticked, take it out on me, since it's the result of how I publish, not a decision Ross made to put a teaser out here

I agree with AmeriClicks and ClickIt. If you want to advertise services/articles, there are places to do that effectively, but not in a forum like this. This forum seems to be going downhill :(

I'm guessing that you didn't understand my last post, so I'll repeat it here for everyone's benefit.
I posted the article FOR Ross Ross is writing a 4 article series for The Gazette, each will be very detailed "how-to's" and insight on things that he's seen people do right and wrong in trying to sell their web sites. As I publish the gazette, for eash article in it, I like to have a forum post associated with it so that we can discuss it. In this case, the article was a simple introduction of what he's going to be working on. I created the forum post as I published the gazette, and I made "ebizbrokers" the by-line on the gazette article, which automatically creates the forum post as coming from him. My apologies on the confusion here. I probably should have left the byline as myself, but since this is Ross's article series, I thought it would make sense as his by-line on this first one, even though I technically wrote it. You should know by now that we run a very tight ship here (some have accused us of running it too tightly), so take my word for it when I tell you that this was my decision, and my action. I wouldn't allow anyone put up a BS posting even if they were paying me, which, incidentally, Ross is not :) Ross is going to take a very active role in this forum, as it's pretty much the only one of it's kind in our world, and we really need an expert here to help us out. A little bit of bartering works out for everyone. We get an expert, Ross gets a link at the top of the page. Just relax, and wait on the articles, you'll be glad you did. Again, my apologies for not clarifying with the initial posting that I made the post in his behalf.

Not to mention the fact that this category IS " I Want To Sell My Site", what better place to post this than in here? (besides Ebay...lol) After looking at some of the people posting sites for sale here, I believe most of them will need these articles :).
I look forward to reading what the guy has to say. I also wouldn't mind permission to post them on my site http://www.workathomecommunity.com when they come out. What'ya say Admin?

we'll have to ask Ross's permission to republish, but I would think that so long as you give him the By-Line and link back, he'd be ok with it.
